How did we create this loft conversion for our client?
This project wasn’t the typical conversion for the style of property and had what would be described as a wrap-around dormer. This was designed this way to accommodate the rise of the new staircase for the loft conversion and to remain within permitted development.
Key Features
The conversion had many areas that stood out and there are two that are worth a mention. The first being the full height glazing on the rear elevation which provided fantastic views and an abundance of natural light. The second is the interesting bathroom with slopes and storage recesses.
Challenges
With loft conversions that exhaust every bit of their permitted development allowance and in this case, being semi-detached, it is 50 cubic metres, to safeguard the process, a Certificate of Lawfulness was required for peace of mind and something we recommend in any case.
Results
A thoughtfully designed wrap-around/hip to gable loft conversion with many unique features that provided significant wow factor with great views.
