How did we create this loft conversion for our client?
The reasons for converting lofts vary a lot from wanting to add value to solving a practical need to accommodate a teenager needing their own quiet space to study which was the case for this client. With this being the main objective, we explored the use of the space to build shelves for books and a place to work. While this project may not have been as design focused as others, we still find ways to create interesting features and make use of natural storage recesses.
Key Features
Despite the strict planning and conservation rules in this East London area, we achieved a dormer loft conversion that became a functional space for the client.
Challenges
The property is located in a conservation area so planning and conservation rules had to be adhered to. This meant we had to find a solution that gets around this, while being able to build a stylish and functional space for the client.
Results
The house gain a large dormer , with plenty of space for a staircase, large bedroom and ensuite bathroom.
